Overview - The Human Services Agency of San Mateo County supports an ongoing culture of excellence through a multitude of strategies, including the Child Welfare System Improvements, the CARF accredited Vocational Rehabilitation Services Program and Outcome-Based Management (OBM) budgeting, to name a few. Accreditation News: Positive Outcomes for Individuals, Children, and Families through Best Practices - The Human Services Agency of San Mateo County (HSA) is at the forefront of a growing community of service providers who are challenging and invigorating their agencies through accreditation. Ours is the largest public agency in California to seek accreditation. We have elected to take on the additional challenge of seeking accreditation for every eligible service area which, upon completion, will make HSA one of a small handful of public agencies in the nation to achieve accreditation agency-wide. The Council on Accreditation standards are based on the experiences and feedback of a board of highly qualified human service providers and current published research from academic institutions, policy centers and government agencies like the US Department of Health and Human Services.
