Below are two programs designed for different adolescent age groups:
Independent Living - This program is available for foster youths ages 16, 17, and 18. Classes, workshops, skill building, and case management are some of the services available. We emphasize skills such as goal setting, health, hygiene, household management, cooking, money management, educational and vocational planning, and employment.
After Care - This program offers support for former foster youth ages 18-21. Assistance includes crisis management and education, employment, and health and housing assistance.
Other Assistance
Affordable Housing - Housing assistance is available to help foster youths transition from foster homes to living independently.
Alcohol and Drug Services - This program helps foster youths overcome alcohol and/or drug addictions, providing services such as assessments, crisis and information hotlines, referrals , substance abuse treatment services, and prevention services.
Additional Resources
Employment Services - PeninsulaWorks can assist foster teens with finding after-school jobs, vocational assistance, and pre-employment and career opportunities.
Health Care - Medi-Cal is California's Medicare program that provides health care coverage for eligible low-income families who do not have health insurance.
